Demopolis Faces Ashford This Friday

Demopolis is at home for the 2nd round of the 4A playoffs against Ashford High. The Tigers are now 11-0 on the season, following their 43-22 win over Beauregard last week. The Tigers will need to cut the penalties out this week. Last week Beauregard was able to get back into the game thanks to 75 yards worth of penalties against Demopolis in the second quarter alone. Coach Goodwin states Ashford is very similar to Jackson, except better. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

In other news….Livingston Police are investigating the death of a 3 year old. Details aren’t being released. According to the obituary, Christian Nichole Marousky died Sunday, Nov. 10th at her home.
The ongoing mess that is indigent care at Bryan Whitfield continues. The County Commission again denied payment for claims of unpaid medical services performed at the hospital. Dr. Fitz-Gerald is still pushing for a 1-cent sales tax to be “ear-marked” for payment of indigent care. The Commission claims the hospital need to review its claims, stating a lot of the claims are from folks that can absolutely pay their bill. BWWMH is privately owned, so there is a case to be made for the county not paying the bill. The County Commission needs to see if this doesn’t get resolved; the Hospital will have no choice but to turn away those without insurance or cash on hand.

Finally….The paddling saga continues. Michaela Curtis and her 2 sons are expected to fly to New York City on Nov. 18th or 19th to for a filming of “The John Walsh Show”. The title of the episode is “Parents Alert, When Teachers Go Too Far.” The Curtis family was featured on World News Tonight with Peter Jennings last Friday. The latest show will air on Nov. 20th. I'll post exact time and channel when I find out.
