I, for one, am tired of hearing about the Curtis' saga. I first learned about it on the ABC message board about spanking in which the mother came on and informed the board posters of the "horrible" abuse her son had to endure for "picking his nose". She completely monopolized the board with tale after tale, ie. the bruises, the teacher, Title 16 of Alabama Code, etc.
Time after time, when she was questioned about her accuracy of the "facts" she presented, she either ignored the question or came up with some excuse. I noticed some discrepancies in her story from one news story to the next and from the news reports to what she posted on the board.
If she had taught her son proper hygiene to begin with, he wouldn't have been picking his nose in the first place. And if he was taught to behave properly, when he was asked to stop by the teacher he would have stopped. If he had any respect for authority and it's rules, he wouldn't have needed the second set of "licks" after receiving the first set the previous day.
I feel sorry for her son for the fact that his parents are using this poor child to further their own agenda - whatever that might be. Imagine being 9 yrs. old and having your "life" (and your butt) splashed all over the news for misbehaving and picking your nose when repeatedly told not to. I can see therapy bills in this child's future, but they won't stem from the paddling he took, but instead from the emotional abuse he's had to suffer at the hands of his parents.:aargh4:
