when I was in the Gulf we had a homemade sigh in our command bunker that read " Freedom isn't free sooner or later someone has to pay the price". During my war there was a great program called operation any solider letters, and when we got mail, sometimes we would get boxes of these letter from complete strangers just offering their support and prayers. Just knowing there were so many at home taking time out of their busy lives, to write made us (me) even more determine to do what my country called me to do and to do it with honor. I encourage you to keep our troops and their families in your prayers. I can guarantee you they will be appreciated and cherished. In addition, if your haven't done so already drop one or more of our troops a letter or an email. A good place to start is
www.legion.org/support, then go to links, they have lots of support ideas that will really brighten the day of those who are paying the price
