This thread interest me from a human interest standpoint. I never knew Kenneth Lay and never had any stock in Enron. I read and heard the same news blurbs that others did but that is about it!

I did have some stock in some similar companies such as Global Crossings and two others but that is digressing. They went bankrupt and I lost but that is the nature of the market.

The point of this post is that I never knew Kenneth Lay and doubt if any of you did and if I were to ask you to write a 5 page dissertation on the life, virtues and mistakes of Lay's life, tenure as CEO of Enron, trial and what he and his family could expect from the rest of his, and their lives' I would be willing to bet that no one could write half a page without referring to the news media's "accounting" thereof.

I am not trying to eulogize or damn Mr. Lay. Just an observation I have made about what I consider human nature. 100 years from now it won't make a damn!

My first thought, after reviewing my post,l is that someone will say don't you believe in the legal system of trial by jury of peers. My answer is, It ain't bad but it ain't perfect and I hope I never have to test it personally. It does have flaws. If it was perfect, we wouldn't need appeals courts, etc.
