Bellsouth/AT&T DSL by the end of the year

Just wanted to post, as I deal with this regularly.

I'd say just under half of Marengo County has access to broadband internet. If anyone calls AT&T now, the person on the phone will tell you DSL will be in your area by the end of the year. Talk to any AT&T tech (or anyone else in the know) and this is not the case. All new DSL rollouts have been put on hold, likely caused by the restructuring due to the merger.

Bottom line, they get you off the phone by saying it will be available by the end of the year, regardless of where you are in the state, while the guys that actually set up the DSLAM are not setting up any new DSLAMs.
