As Dave has already posted, she ran as "The Full Time Mayor"
... I am not intimately privy to Mrs. Williamson's travel itinerary, but I know everytime I went by City Hall she wasn't there. Every time I heard about her whereabouts she was in a state up north visiting ... or on city "business" or on family "business." She may or may not have served her term as mayor (a 24 hour title) mostly inside or outside of city limits.
I do know that she plead guilty to a crime, and then said nothing to the public about the crime committed against them. She just held her head high and went about her mayoral "duties." That's not the kind of person I want to be mayor. She should have stepped down, or at least issued a formal apology to the citizens of Demopolis. But she just completely ignored the fact that anything had happened to her after walking out of the courthouse or lawyer's meeting room. |

Ah, a "formal apology." What a brilliant idea! I would have been content with that. If only the mayor could have said, "I made a bad mistake. I'm very sorry," I could have easily moved on and given her my support. Too late now though. Some things need to be done sooner rather than later. By now my support has moved onto someone more likable and less controversial.
