Re: McCain vs Obama

Cutting taxes across the board has historically stimulated the economy and resulted in better gains for the government. It is in their best interest to to so.

One of the things that scares me about the Obama plan is his taxation of capital returns. My job (capital project engineer) depends on an economy conducive to spending capital dollars. If the taxation is such that it is not profitable to for companies to assume the risk of capital investment, then they will stop. Along with stopping or slowing capital investment you will slow growth and innovation.

If you pair this with Obama's environmental policy, it just won't work. Obama's environmental policy is going to cost manufacturing facilities big money in equipment to control what ever new gas they deem "green-house". This means that they companies need to spend capital dollars, that are no longer profitable according to the economic policy. What is the company to do? Move overseas. I tend to like it better here in Alabama, so I plan to vote for McCain.
