things have change over the years in DHR. my mother worked for DHR for 20 years and retired in 1998. at that time the linden office didn't even have computers. the workers took dictation and hand wrote files. there is alot to be said about working for DHR. my mother still to this day is afraid to go out in public because of threats against her well being. she is referd to as the welfare b***h. when she calls in a order at a restraunt she uses my father's name. growing up, i remember people sitting in our driveway for days because my mother had to take their children away. not to mention that when she had to go into a unstable home enviroment the only protection she was allowed to carry was a plastic wistle.
i'm sure you all remember when the social worker's car was blown up and jesse langley was shot in the head. this happened in south marengo county. the social worker was my mother's supervisor.
i do believe if what the tuscaloosa news says is true, action should be taken. but know what a dangerous job this is and how it affected my family's life.
