The funny thing about the cartoon, is that I heard that the syndicated cartoon was put in the paper (as a joke) to poke fun at two city employees, but that someone forgot to remove it before printing. That is all complete hearsay, but I didn't know if anyone else had heard anything similar to that.
Aside from all the chatter about the cartoon, many people are disappointed with "The Times" because it seems to be shifting the focus from being a small town paper to trying to cover more national news/issues. I can't believe they've even added a fake "Parade" section in the paper. It seems there are plenty of interesting things going on locally to fill a newspaper rather than relying on syndicated cartoons, columns, inserts, etc.
