Re: Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin loses crown after standing
I hate to see someone parked in a handicap space. You may remember me saying that I use to take my Uncle Joe shopping. He was a quadraplegic, which means he was paralized from the neck down. There was no way he could walk and alot of times we would have to park at the end of the parking lot or very near the end just so that I could get him out of the van. Most of the spaces were taken by people that would pull up and RUN into the store. I would get so mad. Even if we did get a handicapped space most of the time I couldn't get the lift down because someone had parked half way in the space that was marked for handicap vans. If any of you have ever had to do this you will understand my frustration. I was at the grocery store one day and saw a car parked in a handicap spot that didn't have a decal so I called the cops. By the way, they never showed up, I stayed there to see. When the woman came out to get in her car she was a nurse. I was so irate I could hardly see straight. I mean this woman works with handicapped people all the time and she has the audacity to take one of their parking spaces. Needless to say I had to double dose my blood pressure meds for that one. Another time I was at Wal-Mart and watched a cop ticket someone for being in the cops only space but in the handicap spot close by was a car with no decal and the cop just drove off when he got through writing the ticket for being parked in the cops space. This is one of the reasons that handicapped people get no respect. If the cops can't help them keep something as simple as a parking space who is going to help them keep respect!!!!
