The Foscue House Is Reopening

Passed by Foscue House tonight and it looked like they were packed with people. Hope it all went well.

We tried Foscue House last night and it was great. From what people have said the service at first has been slow, not so last night. Had the grilled grouper-it was FINE! The hub had the shrimp and steak-shrimp were grilled in the same type of marinade at the grouper and were great, steak was a bit overcooked, but was still good. They have there liquor licence, so we were able to get wine with the meal. Prices were great and so was the atmosphere. We will definately be going back. Thanks to the Hills for reopening the place. If they keep up the quality food, good prices, and service that we got, they should be around for a long time. We really enjoy the Red Barn, but I do think that the Foscue house is going to be a great change of pace from the Barn. Demopolis is big enough to have two quality dinner resturants. I certainly enjoy resturants like the Foscue House much more than a chain resturant.

We ate there last week, but I've held off on a review until they get their kitchen organized and staff fully trained. You can't ding them while they are trying to spool up.

We had the grilled pork tenderloin (Wife loved it) and I had the shrimp boil platter (very spicy and good, with corn and new potatos, but the shrimp were a little tough and over boiled). The loaded potatos were tasty but needed real bacon as opposed to Bacn Bits on top.

Don't get the side salad, it's not worth the price for the tiny portion. Overall, nice staff and good food, but the restaurant needs to get a little more organized before we try it again (and we will).

I had family visiting from California and Mississippi and we went there on a Sat night - the food was cold, the drink order took 25 minutes and the service was terrible...I hope things change soon or they won't last long...everyone was really disapointed....
