The Foscue House is reopening on October 1st. Brandi and Shawn Hill from Butler is renting the house from Ms. Avery Bryd to reopen this resturant. It will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for dinner and Sundays for lunch. They already own a resturant in Butler and they choose The Foscue House for their second. They have moved to Demopolis and put their girls into the City Schools, so they don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon. I'm not sure about the menu but I do know that the bar will be open and that they are still seeking a bartender. These are really nice people and they have worked really hard to reopen this resturant. I'm not sure about reservations. I'll know more in the next week. Just wanted to get the word out.

I have never been in that place. I have heard good things about it but never think to go there. Maybe this thread will remind PK and I to try it out. Good luck to the new owners.
I don't know why, but there have been several attempts on opening the Foscue House & NONE were successful. I ate there years ago & the food was really good & the prices were decent. I don't mind paying higher $$$ if the food & service are up to par. The atmosphere was nice. When Mike Grayson was doing the courtyard concerts, we went on several occasions.
I wish the new owners luck, but I just have my reservations that the venture may not work.

I love the Foscue House atmosphere, and I will definitely give them a try. I just swore I would never go back in there again as long as that "other guy" had it!
I'm so glad to hear that someone is giving the old place another try! I love the atmosphere there. Always reminds me of my childhood when we went to the country to my grandmothers house. Her's was similarly built to the Foscue House.
Last time we went there was when Mike first opened and there was such chaos and service so extremely slow and so expensive what little we got that hubby decided we didn't need to go back. Guess we should have given it at least one more try after it settled in. I'm so glad to hear it'll be open for Sunday lunches too. Not too many nice places open on Sundays. I wish them much success with it and will definitely give them a try.
Have the owners email me a menu and hours of operation. I'll get them added to the guide.

I have never been there but want to. Maybe I can make it this time when they open. I'm like RhondaRoo, I want to know the name of their place in Butler too.
I've never been to the Foscue House. I guess because it is on the other end of town I forgot about it. But I will try to make a point to go now that it is open again and maybe we can give them a review on the show.
The wife and I went only once to a private company function under the old management and that was enough. Food was good when we finally got it,took roughly 1 1/2 to be served, and service was very slow. There were about 20 in all. Price was very expensive for 1 meat, veggies, couple of min-dulips.
Hope the new owners all the luck and hope they prosper.
