Anytime anyone gets an email like this from ebay, a bank, paypal, etc, don't worry about clicking on the link in the email. Go to the site itself in your web browser and look for the info listed in the email. If you can't find it on the site, its likely a scam.
This one actually shows a fairly realistic link to ebay, but the site shows the ip address and not the domain name in the web browser. Several links on this email and the scam site actually go to ebay to make it look legitimate.

thanks, Oldman. Got one something like this not too long ago, and reported it to Ebay. The representative said everything that you stated above, but also added that if Ebay contacted a customer, they do so by name ......so he said never answer anything from Ebay that doesn't say Dear "insert your account name here."

I have been getting these type emails for a long time. I hardly ever click a link in any email, especially if is from something that metions an account. I might open the link if I know in advance they are sending me the link.
I had to stop and ask self,"Do I really need to be here", and self says,"Only in the cover of darkness."
Basic rule of thumb is don't click on a link or open an email from someone you don't know, and 99.9% of all companies online tell you that they will never for specific information through email. Like Ranger said... go to the website -- open your browser (another window if you have web-based email like hotmail or gmail, etc) and go to their site -- try to find the information there. If nothing -- delete the email without even opening it.

We've been getting a lot of "Second Chance" emails from "Ebay". People have been watching us bidding on Alabama tickets and will start offering us the second chance to buy them. On one auction we had 5 different people contact us telling us they were the seller of the tickets. We've reported all these false emails to Ebay. If you get another email forward it to spoof@ebay.com

I got an email just like this last week. Fortunately I contacted ebay before I did anything with it and found out that it was a fraud. You have to be really careful anymore. Sad isn't it.
