Re: New Computer

I have had several computers, E-machine (JUNK ), Compaq (OK ), HP (OK ), Gateway (PIECE OF JUNK HATED ME ). I now run 2 Dell's 1 in the office and 1 at home. I do not have any complaints on neither one of the two.

That's just my opinion, from my experience, others may differ.

But, If you are looking for a computer and do not want to wait for the delivery truck then my advice is to PM Oldman and see what he tells you to get.

The way I see it.

Re: New Computer

I had a gateway and it didnt work right from day 1. Bought an HP and have not had a day of trouble out of it. I am on an Emachine as i type this and as long as you remember what it was built for ( to surf the web) it does the job admirably. Bought a Dell for my daughter and they jerked me around for so long on the tech support that finally my warranty ran out and could no longer get any help. So what do i do. I buy a dell lap top. NP so far. Had to get Dave to fix my daughters computer. It lasted a couple of more months and is in bad shape again. Oh well computers are like cars every brand has its lemons. Some people swear by a ford and others drive chevrolets. Same with computers you stand a chance to buy a lemon

Re: New Computer

From the sounds of everything said here, I think I will do what I did last time...buy a HP (as top of the line as I can find) and upgrade myself as I need to. It has worked fine on this one for 4 1/2 years...maybe the next one will be as lucky for me.

But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

Ok people, I am in dire need of a new computer obviously. My first instinct is to by from Dell, but I WANT ONE NOW! Any suggestions out there on the latest and greatest?
From what I've read so far I would suggest go locally if possible. That way you have the support at hand if needed and it would be a lot faster. I believe Oldman mentioned he builds and sells computers and I've not misstaken is looking to open a computer business here in town. I'd give him a call and start from there.

I wasn't going to just come out and advertise on the forums, but thanks.

Already got a computer business open, just not in town yet. I'm still trying to decide if a physical presence in town will be worth the extra expense.

One thing worth note here, her location is North Ms, so we're not local for whatyoudeserve69. still not a problem, but...
