1. General Posting Rules:
1.1 No "Flaming": Please do not post any messages that harass, insult,
belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest. If you have a grievance
with a member, please address them through email or Private message. If it
something that deals with their behavior toward you on this site and you cannot
solve the issue by dealing with them directly, you may take your issue to the
admins where we can take administrative action.
1.1.1 Personal threats made in the forum or via PM is
STRICTLY prohibited. Violation of this can be grounds for an immediate permanent
ban from the website. This is an internet forum, reducing yourself to making
personal threats against someone else is not only against the rules, but, simply
makes you look retarded.
1.2 No "Trolling": Please do not post any topic that disrupts the peace
and harmony of this board. Don't create meaningless threads with the sole
purpose of starting a dispute. This includes messages in profiles and
signatures.
1.3 No "Spamming": Please do not double post or cross-post the same
message in multiple forums. You will not mass-PM or mass-email multiple members
of this site the same message. You will not post for the sake of increasing your
post count or points to your account.
1.4 No senseless "Bumping": Please do not bump your request/help
searching or other threads several times a day. Remember there are people who
don't browse this board every hour. So do not bump a thread within 24h or too
much even after 24 hours.
1.5 No "Offensive" Posts, Links or Images: Please do not post any
messages that are obscene, vulgar, strongly sexually-orientated, hateful,
threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or otherwise violate any local or
international laws. This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks as
well as posted images, photos and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if
something is appropriate or not.
1.6 Your post should not relate to illegal activities like warez (illegal
software), site hacking, software cracking, pirate forums etc.
1.7 Language: We do not want to have to censor your posts. Please refrain
from using obscene language just for the sake of using it. We are all human and
understand that sometimes words come out and that is fine. But to post it just
for the sake of getting attention is not acceptable, it only shows your
maturity. We implement filters here at Demopolislive, however, it isn't
foolproof, please do not attempt to bypass or skirt around the filter.
1.8 Posting or promoting of events designed for the
benefit or
promotion of Demopolislive without prior consent from the Demopolislive Staff is
Prohibited.
This includes but is not limited to events that are designed to promote the
website, raise money for the website or are designed in anyway to benefit the
website.
How Demopolislive is publicly funded and promoted lies at the sole discretion of
the Demopolislive Staff. We appreciate ALL our members are are deeply
touched when they want to get involved in raising money or promoting the site.
However, due to liability concerns we have to be careful on how and when such
activities take place. If you have an idea for an event that could benefit
Demopolislive and or its members, please don't hesitate to talk to us about it.
1.9 Posting in all CAPS is prohibited. This is also referred to as
SHOUTING. Its annoying. Please don't do it.
1.9.1 Using larger than normal or colored fonts for your
entire post is not advisable. It
can be distracting and makes it difficult to read the post content. Font sizes,
Colors, etc,
are used for emphasis, not for general posting.
1.10 Posting of Email and Internet hoaxes will be deleted. In general,
we discourage from posting any rumor you find floating around the internet as it
really is just trash.
1.11 Observe the rules for the forum you posting in. Please be aware
of the content your posting and that it goes in the appropriate forum. Threads
that are off topic for the forum will be moved. If a member is subject to having
a large number of "out of forum" posts, then they will be subject to a warning.
1.12 Giving out personal information of ANY kind about another member
without permission is strictly prohibited. Please respect peoples privacy.
1.13 Soliciting another member for information about
another member is strictly prohibited. If you want to know who someone is, ask
them yourself. If they want you to know, they will tell you.
2. Self-Promotion :
2.1 Please do not post any messages on this site that are primarily for the
promotion or advertising of any website, forums, email address, business,
activity, or other entities that you have a monetary affiliation with
OUTSIDE
the trading post forum. We setup a forum specifically for this type of
posting (see the Trading Post Forum). Refrain from promoting yourself or your
business in threads posted by other members. We allow some leeway in this regard
depending on the relevance of the post and or the nature of the organization
(example, your a member of a local band promoting an event, or are promoting a
charity you are affiliated with), but, as a general rule, don't do it.
If you have a question on whether a post will be ok or not, please contact
one of the admins first.
2.2 Solicitation through private messages or using the
email system on this site is also prohibited.
3. Copyrighted Material (software, mp3's, etc)
3.1 No "spreading of copyrighted Material": Please do not upload, attach
or post anything that is copyright or licensed without prior consent of the
owner. For example, games, songs, etc. This does not include screenshots,
photos, and videos to a certain degree. This includes the spread via @demopolislive.com
email accounts AND webspace provided to Demopolislive contributing members.
4. Signature Rules
4.1 Content restrictions: You may have a link to your own website or
services, but there must be no promotional language like "Best Hosting" or
"Cheapest Styles". Paypal and affiliate links are NOT permitted. Signatures are
subject to all the same rules as the rest of the forum.
4.2 We currently do not have a specific signature size standard set,
However, we ask that you keep your signatures to as small an area as creatively
possible. If your signature is adding to the length of your posts, then chances
are it's too big. Please be considerate of other users. The larger your
signature, the more scrolling people have to do to read the threads.
5. Registration Rules
5.1 You are required at registration and during your
membership to keep a valid email address associated with your account.
If your email address changes then you must update your account to reflect those
changes. Your email address is kept private and is only used for administrative
purposes.
5.2 You are allowed ONE account per per person. If you
are found to have registered a second account, it will be subject to deletion
without warning. If you have issues logging into your account, please contact an
admin.
*Note: All decisions made by the Admins are final. If you have a complaint or
question raised by the decision of a Moderator, please email
support -at- demopolislive -dot- com
While we do have some leeway in your posting of various topics, our hopes are
that you would conduct yourselves with some maturity. No one likes to be banned
and we don't like doing it, but abuse of the forums and other members will be
dealt with.
