The soon to be nationally known Sunshine Tigers will be taking on Linden High in Newborn this Friday night. The 2 teams have split wins over the last 4 years. Linden is undefeated this year, while Sunshine have one win against John Essex. In a rivalry game, however, records are of little consequence.
Besides being a rivalry and regional game, there are other implications in the match up.* The game will be part of the Toyota Line of Scrimmage halftime spots in November.* See Jeremy Smith's "Top Ten Reasons" to come out to this game. *
If you aren't making the trip to watch Demopolis, take the short drive to Newbern and enjoy some good football.
Thanks, Dave, for the publicity about the football game in Newbern on Friday night! Sunshine was chosen to be a "Guts and Glory" team for the 2008 season. There are seven other teams spread from seashore to seashore! These schools were not chosen for their athletic ability but their dedication to the game of football....win or lose! The Sunshine Tigers will leave it all "on the field" as the whistle signals the end!
My family has ties to both teams. Our prayer is that the game will be played clean and not have any injuries.
This is a part of the Toyota Line of Scrimmage as seen on the NFL game on Sunday night. The Sunshine minutes will be shown on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7, 2008, on NBC.

Kagan this LHS team thats coming is wicked, very wicked. I wish you and the Tigers all the Best, and Good Luck. I would try to tell you how to slow 'em down but it wouldnt be leagle, so I guess just try to outscore 'em.

I intend ot be htere for this game as yes Kagan is one of My dearest friends and I also graduated from Linden High School but when I did they werent the Patriots they were the Red Devils and I played on the last Red Devil team there!

Well, as I said I was going to the ballgame and I did and I can say one thing for sure the score was no indicaiton of the kind of ballgame it was! The boys from Sunshine never quit not for one play and no wonder Kagan is so proud of them! They may of lost the ballgame but I can assure you there were no losers in that locker room tonight!!
