This has to push Valve to get Half Life 2 finished. Ona related note--the word is they will develop a patch for Doom3 that will allow coop play on the missions. Talk about fun

Word is id is making the game open for the modding community, so even if id doesn't release a co-op patch, someone else has said they will.

I honestly expected HL2 to be out by now. Both are on my "gotta see" list... I think HL2 is going to be an excellent game, excellent engine, etc, but my love is stuff like Aliens, Aliens vs Predator games, Doom, etc... I love it when the atmosphere of the game can pull me in to the point that my heart rate goes up when the spaghetti hits the fan...
At one point in AvP2 I actually broke into a cold sweat right after I got through one of those "I'm going to die here" moments.
Co-op mode is really what made the Serious Sam games so good.
2 players + well over twice the badguys = buncha fun

I've played the *cough beta version of HL2--amazing physics even for a busted source code. I wasn't aware Serious Sam had coop mode--might have to dust that one off again

I've played the Doom 3... er... release... uhm... on someone else's system... in a non extradtion country...
Haven't played the leaked HL2. D3 was a system hog, but ran well on an Athlon 1.4 w/256MB of DDR and Geforce 4 Ti4200.
the alpha used uncompressed sounds, textures, etc... major bandwidth hog. but it looked sweeeet...
oh yea, the coop mode... under network game, I don't remember exactly the setting, but coop is an option. Set the difficulty whereever you want, it doesn't really matter as you have unlimited lives and respawn near where you died with a decent amount of ammo, depending on the situation...
overall, an excellent example of how to do coop.

Doom 3 is the bomb. Extremely well done. Dark levels that give a truely creepy experience. Graphics are best I've seen.
