New Laptop Problem

Hey y'all. I just got a brand new Dell 6000 laptop and I love it. But I have found a few little bugs and I don't want to mess anything up so I thought I'd ask for a little advice....

I've added my printer software (HP printer/scanner/fax), my Kodak EasyShare software for my digital camera and a few other necessity programs. No problems there.

In addition, I've tried removing some of the crap that new 'puters always come loaded down with...AOHell, NetZero, etc. I think I accomplished most of that okay....until I went to startup yesterday morning. Now on startup I am getting a window that says something to the effect of:

"The dll file found at: C/Windows/microsoft.NET/Framework/v1.1.4322/mscorwrks.dll is not a valid picture file. Please compare it against your install disk."

HUH? I'm lost. And I hope I haven't messed something up.

HELP!!! and Thanks!

Re: New Laptop Problem

Its not a serious error. Window still starts up fine, right?

You should be able to go to add remove programs and find Microsoft.net framework and uninstall it, then download it from the Windows Update site should any software you use require it. Most Windows XP systems do not have the .net framework installed.

WHEW~!! Thank you so much, Oldman. I just found out what program I am using that needs the .NET ...my scanner. *sigh* I'm headed to uninstall and reinstall it right now. I knew I could count on you and the DLive community to bail me out. lol Thanks so much!

Re: New Laptop Problem

If your scanner requires it, odds are its on the scanner driver CD. Check there before you go to download it as I'm pretty sure its big.
