If you have a large collection of MP3's and/or wish to legally build your collection, this is a GREAT program. Even if you never buy a single thru the convient built in store (99 cents per song), it is a fantastic mp3 organizer and player. One of the best I've seen yet. Best of all, Its free.

Basically, just a music file that allows the audio to be compressed to a more usable file size.

I have an MP3 player in my truck. I can pack around 160+ songs on one CD-R

Lot better than the old 18 songs per disk route

I guess my main question is this - can you put it on a regular CD?

Yes you can burn MP3s onto a CD, either a CD-R or a CD-RW. Most modern stereos seem to be able to play CD-R's if you just convert the MP3's to CDA format - you will need a CD or DVD burner on your computer with the correct software to do this though. Nero and Roxio are the most popular CD burning software packages on the market today but the free version of Musicmatch that you can download also lets you burn songs but at a very limited speed unless you pay for the plus version. I do not know if Itunes has CD burning functionality built into it.

I forgot to add that if you have Windows XP you already have CD burning functionality built in but you still need the correct hardware (CD burner or DVD burner and the CD-R or CD-RW discs) to take advantage of it.
