The Demopolis Tigers Gutted out a 20-0 Win over Choctaw County on Friday. Defense was the factor in this one. Demopolis snagged a total of 6 interceptions and caused 5 fumbles, recovering 2. Penalties were ridiculous, both teams combining for 169 yards on 17 flags. DHS moves to 5-0 and will be home on Friday against the Holt Ironmen. On Saturday, Alabama won convincingly against favored Arkansas in there first SEC matchup this year. Backup QB Brodie Croyle did an amazing job in the place of injured Tyler Watts, and the running game looked good as ever in the absence of Ahmad Galloway. The Auburn Tigers pulled out a thrilling triple-overtime win over Syracuse. Most noticable in the game for me was the emergance of the 2 backup QB's, who both took over brilliantly when the starters failed to get it done. Cadillac Williams keeps on cruising, rushing for 202 yards on the day, including the winning TD, and came 1 run shy of his record 41 carries in a single game.
In other news: McClain EZ-Pack laid off 47% of there workers on Friday. Stated this was due to lack of orders for industrial waste containers. The total # of West Nile cases on Alabama has reached 30, with 2 being fatal. The greatest at risk continue to be the elderly. With the recent rain and continiued humidity, continued protection from mosquito bites is imperative. And finally, congradulations to the DHS marching band, who recieved all "1's", or the best score possible, at the Hillcrest Band Festival. The band recieved trophies for "Band Front", ""Overall Band" and "Percussion".
