According to Cheryl Hall, Linden City Administrator, one Linden City police officer has been fired, two have been suspended, and another has been reprimanded. Jumond Griffin was dismissed pending a 10-day paid suspension. Officers Scott McClure and Aaron Malone both recieved suspensions. Officer Tim Barnhill recieved a writen reprimand. All were due to "violations of personnel policies" according to Hall.
In other news....U.S. Highway 80 continues to be an insurance agent's worse nightmare. The latest wreck happened last Monday, where a tow truck carring a FedEx van ran a red light and hit and collided with a Buick. No injuries were reported in this one. Intersections along 80 have proved dangerous and deadly. One of the main reasons being large transfer trucks racing down 80 day and night. I've personally had to run a red light to keep from being rear ended by a big rig in a hurry....Congradulations to Jane Elynn Dickerson for being crowned Miss COTR 2002. Katie Broussard was crowned Junior Miss COTR....The Demopolis Tigers Homecoming game is this Friday. The Tigers take on the Livingston Cougars. The Homecoming Parade will begin at 1 p.m. Support your Tigers as they march toward an undefeated season.
