Demopolis CATV drops Comedy Central
UPDATE: CATV has restored Comedy Central to their lineup. It's now on Cable Channel 68.


CATV doesn't seem to know the first way to keep me satisfied with my $46 cable. First off, it is next to impossible to watch network stations during the day due to static. Second off, I am still waiting on getting some channels like Tech TV. Thirdly, CATV managed to schedule there system to go down for upgrades, 3 minutes before the freakin' countdown for the central time zone the other night on NBC. But now I am really starting to get ticked off with them.

You see, in case you haven't noticed, they decided to add Disney to the roster. Which I am fine with. The channel...18, what happened to Headline news you ask?? Well that got bumped to 43, and Comedy Central got the boot all together. That pissed me off. I like Comedy Central and watch it regularly. Why is it that if we gain channel, we have to get rid of another?? Furthermore, why get rid of a channel that everyone likes? We can keep umpteen home shopping channels, BookTV, CSpan2, EWTN (The Nun channel), but Comedy Central is first on the list to get the axe? What in the world are these people thinking?

I am getting real tired of CATV, and have as good feeling I probably won't be a customer for too much longer, what with how cheap satellite is these days. Anyone else have the same gripe?

True that Jeff, CATV sucks! I think the same way you do!! There is all these other channels nobody watches !! GEt rid of those channels instead of the popular ones that people actually enjoy...

I may move this to the front (since I was gonna post about it anyway this morning).

I to watch Comedy Central more than any other channel. When I signed up for the service, I did so for a cable service that INCLUDED Comedy Central. I will be calling them today and asking whats going on. If someone gets an answer please post it here. Even if you don't use CATV, call and complain anyway, for great justice.

Being out in the boonies, I have DIRECTV. The biggest disadvantage on it is when a huge rain cloud or thunderstorm passes over, the whole system goes out. DIRECT has a history of dropping channels also with little or no notice. They dropped TRIO a few days ago. That was ok with me but a few months they dropped the channel where I could check on weather info across the country in real time.

Several people told me Demopolis CATV had the chance to show the DHS Championship Game but refused to do so. Any truth to that?

We have Dish Network and really like it. The reception has been excellent with the exception of just a few times during really bad storms and then not for very long. The reception with cable on the channels we liked, especially Animal Planet, was getting worse and worse and the price was going up and up so finally decided to switch. Now we get everything we enjoy and then some. Also a long list of Sirius and other music channels that are great too. We also get 2 network channels, Fox and NBC for just a little more. We have 3 boxes that can view 3 differenct stations at once, all the best channels and 8 Starz channels for good movies at $61 a month, not much more than our cable bill was.

If anyone is interested in switching to Dish Network, please use me as a reference!! I'll give you the info.
