Governor Palin Resigns her office

Governor Palin just announced her resignation to be effective at the end of the month (July 2009). She stated that she is doing this to prepare for the run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.

Palin did not say that she was running for President in 2012. To me, this just further proves that Palin was unprepared and unable to compete politically on a national or international stage. If she does run for President, this move will be hard to explain.

I'm torn! Nobody likes a quitter/I really liked her. DAnG it! I can understand not running for Governor again, but not quitting altogether.

Didn't she say something about wanting to save the taxpayers from wasting money on ethics complaints. Couldn't the ethics complaints still go on after she leaves office.

I didn't see this one coming. Then again, I haven't see a lot of the GOP news of the past few months coming. I keep hearing that she did NOT make a Presidential announcement or even hint of one today.

The whole ethics thing, Presidential expectations, David Letterman, and recovery from 2008 race have seemed to wear on her. The last time she was on the news about Letterman, she seemed awfully tired.

Just goes to show that she could not take being a President. If someone can't take being critisized they dont need to be head of our country. Looks like David Letterman won the battle againist her. I belive this will be the end of the road for her in politics. JMO

Well, she's a republicrat. I would probably vote for if she was not affiliated with either of the two main parties.

Even though I agree with most of Sarah Palin's politics, I don't think she knew enough about world affairs to be president, but then when we observe policies of the present administration, they obviously don't either.

The debt we will be leaving to our grandchildren is irresponsible and sinful and will be catastrophic for our country. It's unbelievable that this administration is even considering taxing health benefits on everybody but union members...........it's as if the rest of us never worked hard and paid our taxes (but then we didn't vote enmasse for democrats). Unions supported "the one who shall not be mentioned"..........political payback is rampant. They wouldn't tax any democrat's health benefits either if they could get away with it.

Astronomical legal fees defending herself against failed lawsuits initiated by her political enemies may be the main reason for her abrupt resignation. She doesn't have the vast resources that are available to most of our national politicians. It wouldn't surprise me if she went into TV, or she could make more money giving political speeches...........she's always been able to draw huge crowds, but they would probably be termed terrorists by this administration.

Whatever she does, it will be tailored to spend as much time as possible with her family. She might not have been ready to be president but I sure like her.

Palin is just a dumb hick that will end up of Fox News. Probablyi already has the job lined up. She is fairly cute but not beautiful with limited brainpower. JMHO

That was an unnecessasarily harsh comment..........you must be an MSNBC loyal who feels something "tingling up (or down) your leg" when "he who must not be mentioned" has his daily manipulated news conference.

My sincere hope is that I don't receive an IOU instead of my social security check. Vast, social-enginering entitlements are bankrupting us all. Another sincere hope of mine is that these Ivy League geniuses (as opposed to dumb hicks with limited brainpower, like me), in almost total control of our government don't drown us in debt.

It would be extremely helpful if our congressmen would just read the Pelosi/"one who shouldn't be named's" bills before signing them.
It would help us "hicks" to believe that this is, indeed, a government for all the people, "with justice for all".
