I think we should still be there, but not as many and not doing as much as we are. They have there own army, but we're not making them do anything, we're training them susposably. But as all that I know that have been over there, we're just holding there hands and doing there work for them... its time for us to sit back and let them figure it out for themselves. |

But our misssion is to make sure they have a working government and a solid military foundation capable of attack on insurgency, terrorist, foreign enemies.
What scares me... is we spend all this time training them -- restore them to a nation capable of defense / offense and then some coup five years down the road leads us to fighting men we've TRAINED.
Things are SOOOO unstable in that region of the world right now... I wouldn't be surprised if we had troops over there for another 20 years.
Hamas in Palestine, the threat to Isreal, Iran being stubborn about their "nu-cu-lar" efforts...
