You people kill me... Mike lost the first time because he was L-A-Z-Y... You want a lazy/complacent guy in the hot seat running your town?? I for one, hopes that he does run again.. Williamson will win again with less effort than last time... Most of you need to get head out of the sand...
Williamson made a mistake, clear and simple... She paid for it in numerous ways and it was made much bigger than it should've been... Seems to me that she is doing an okay job. Yes, she has had some bumps in the road... Have we not all made mistakes when we took on a new job?
If you want to call someone lazy -- or not doing their job... go look up how many days Cecil has taken on vacation... or on "City Business."
I would bet she has served us as Mayor outside of Demopolis more than she has inside the city limits.
Life is something that you can't control.
When you try to hold on to it, it makes you let go!

And you are basing this on what? Are you so intimately aware of Williamson's travel itinerarary that have personal knowledge of this? Proabably not... Also, Are you aware that the Mayor's position is PART-TIME...

Just a head's up: mmcd is one of our brighter minds. Good luck.
We just want a nice, normal person who will represent the city well. Making a mistake is one thing, but a blatant, unrepentant, arrogant attitude toward the law and one's relation to it irritates most normal folks. You may be right: she may win again. And then a bunch of us will probably pack up! Just kidding. We like our little town, and we want someone we can have confidence in to lead us. You have every right to vote for Mrs. Williamson. Everyone who supports her SHOULD vote for her! This is America! But I imagine that you will be surprised at just how many of us WILL vote for Mike Grayson, if he chooses to run. As with all things, time will tell.
Are you aware that the Mayor's position is PART-TIME...
If you asked Cecil that when she ran, I imagine her response would have been "It's a full-time position" -- considering her slogan for her campaign was the "Full Time Candidate".

As Dave has already posted, she ran as "The Full Time Mayor"
... I am not intimately privy to Mrs. Williamson's travel itinerary, but I know everytime I went by City Hall she wasn't there. Every time I heard about her whereabouts she was in a state up north visiting ... or on city "business" or on family "business." She may or may not have served her term as mayor (a 24 hour title) mostly inside or outside of city limits.
I do know that she plead guilty to a crime, and then said nothing to the public about the crime committed against them. She just held her head high and went about her mayoral "duties." That's not the kind of person I want to be mayor. She should have stepped down, or at least issued a formal apology to the citizens of Demopolis. But she just completely ignored the fact that anything had happened to her after walking out of the courthouse or lawyer's meeting room.

Ah, a "formal apology." What a brilliant idea! I would have been content with that. If only the mayor could have said, "I made a bad mistake. I'm very sorry," I could have easily moved on and given her my support. Too late now though. Some things need to be done sooner rather than later. By now my support has moved onto someone more likable and less controversial.
