Poll Time Were you a fan of MJ?

Since the death of Michael Jackson there have been so many people come out and saying how they are going to miss Michael. Some of these people were they very ones who attacked him every chance they got. So are they fans of his or not?

So my poll question to you is this: Were you a fan of Michel Jackson?

Only the MJ of Thriller and before, not after he was "accused".

Re: Were you a fan of MJ?

i love his music , and the more i actually read about him and why he did the things he did, like covering his kids to hide them everyone seemed really strange years ago now it appears he did that for them to able to go to the movies and birthday parties like an average child . i assumed he was really strange but apparently i just did not know his reasons ...dont get me wrong i have called him a pedifile for a few years now but i am starting to second guess that too ...maybe he was just a troubled man who tried too hard to right all the wrongs in his life growing up ?? i really dont know ...

Re: Were you a fan of MJ?

To me he just got more and more strange as the years went on, I don't know if he was guilty or not, I do believe his mind never matured past about 10 or 12 years old, so some of what everyone found so odd may not have seemed so to him. But being his age and sharing a bed with a 12 y/o boy is wrong no matter what your mental level of maturity. It's sad all around, and now we have to hear of autopsy's and who's getting his kids and money, I just wish it were over.

Re: Were you a fan of MJ?

I haven't voted in the poll because my answer choice isn't up there: "All the above"

Was I a fan? I'm not a fan of any artist in particular. I'm a fan of music in general. As for MJ's part:
1) Thiller, Rockin' Robin, Beat It, and Rock with You...were fun
2) Man in the Mirror and Black or White...were challenging

However...
3) She's Out of My Life and You Are Not Alone...were from the heart

Although he seemed to get stranger as he got older, I'll have to echo LPL in that I've grown to believe that many of his legal problems and other accusations were merely money-grubbers and gold-diggers. It happens to the rich and famous. In light of that, the strangeness may have been nothing more than his way of withdrawing from a world that either didn't seem to understand him or that he didn't trust. dove, I think he was a real Peter Pan...he never became a pirate like the rest of us.

Re: Were you a fan of MJ?

Many years ago I dated a young lady, a professional dancer, who was in a play at school. She suggested that I try out for a part since I had to wait for her to practice anyway. Being a country "hick" and ignorant of such things, I made a derogatory remark concerning the masculinity of male dancers.
She laughed and insisted I come backstage to watch them warmup...............I've never seen finer athletes, they had muscles on top of muscles and were extremely limber. I didn't join the cast but I've enjoyed dancing ever since.

Michael Jackson was one of the great dancers and choreographers of our time. It's such a shame that many of our most talented people court disaster and eventually die young.
Of course I'm aware of all of the eccentricities and accusations of drug use and molestation..........all of that is repugnant and inexcusable.

"Billie Jean" is one of the greatest dance songs ever recorded but no other voice compares to Elvis.

Re: Were you a fan of MJ?

Maybe you have to be black to understand this.............Jackson had all those nose jobs to look less negroid, he had that blond, fair-skinned hateful white woman inseminated with sperm from a white man to acquire white children, he tried to turn himself white................all of this and yet black folks are treating him like a hero.
Why the adulation from black people when Jackson obviously hated being black ?
Am I way off base here ?

The hell of it is that he was originally an extremely nice-looking younger man and yet he turned himself into a clownish figure.

Yes, I was a fan of the original Michael Jackson. The black guy who was so amazingly talented. I wasn't so fond of him when he became a white female, tho.

Clearly MJ had serious self esteem issues and mental health issues. My psychology training tells me that he may have been suffereing from body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). It really has nothing to do with him being black. Black people support MJ because they understand that he has issues (as many entertainers do, both black and white) however that does not negate the fact that he was a prolific musical prodigy.
