It really seems crude to dismiss the film without seeing it simply because of who's bringing the message. |

Then is it alright to dismiss it because Gore's travels around the globe in a private jet to publicize the film created
more carbon dioxide emissions than
I do in a year??? Isn't that sort of like an obese person scolding a starving child about eating a peppermint while he eats two chocolate cakes?

It is discouraging that the disinformation campaign has taken root with otherwise intelligent people: it is our children and grandchildren who will pay the price for the willful ignorance we choose to believe on this subject. |

I find it rather discouraging that otherwise intelligent people would jump all over a doomsday scenario that simply is not verified by science. The fact is that many studies refuting instances of
global warming were done with proper "double-blind" funding, so the source of funding would not have an impact on the results. Additionally, many of the studies supporting global warming have been funded by "environmental organizations" whose directors make the big bucks because they bring in big donations from "otherwise intelligent people" who panic over the thought that of an ice sheet "melting". Should we not be a bit skeptical of those studies?? Particularly when subsequent research has shown, in some cases, that those studying global warming have ignored certain variables in the interest of making their research come out "the right way"?
The fact is that we should want to protect the environment....but relying on junk science to make decisions with legitimate, global, economic implications is preposterous. Instead of investing millions of dollars (or in Gore's case, millions of carbon-dioxide atoms from jet fuel exhaust) in treaties that might have
no effect whatsoever on sea levels, ice caps, or any damn thing else, how about
:
(1) enforcing clean water acts worldwide
(2) enforcing clean air acts worldwide
(3) enforcing deforestation and other land use acts worldwide
...not because not doing so will cause a massive IceAge/HeatAge/TsunamiAge/WhateverAge like the Chicken Littles of the world are claiming, but because we
know irrefutably the legitimate pejorative effects of not controling such actions.
Finally....my last little tidbit on global warming....is that anyone who "Wants to Believe" like dear Fox Mulder should really read a little bit about chaos theory and the phenomenon we like to call weather. You see, we do not know all of the variables that go into the weather....that's why we are unable to predict when a tornado or hurricane will hit, or exactly where, where, and even if the rain will fall. There are also variables that go into making and controlling the weather that we
know have an effect, but we just don't know exactly what effect they have. Now....climate is the general weather in one particular place over an extended period of time. Thus, my question, which has
never been answered satisfactorily by
any proponent of global warming is this:
If we cannot know what the weather in a particular place will be like on any given day based on previous patterns, just how the HECK are we supposed to be able to know what the weather will be like in three hundred years in that place or exactly what will cause it?!?!?!?!
Trust me...there is a good reason why mathematicians haven't been backing up the global warming theories.
