Premieres August 23rd on MTV. This is a reality type show that has been following the Hoover High School Buccaneers (football team\players\coaches) for the last 2 years (I think). I've seen the trailer for the show and it looks like it will be fun to watch. It definately tells the tale of what high school football is like in Alabama. The time of the show is 10:30 p.m. ET.
They have an advertisement about this show at Carmike Cinemas....the CHEAP movies in t-town. Looks good

If the remote works on your tv like it does mine, then you can make up your own mind on whether to watch it or not. I watched it, mostly because this team is from Alabama. I did enjoy it and I will watch the mindless channel the next time it is on!

I hate to say this but I may be with Trez on this one. Probably for different reasons though. First off, I havent seen it yet. So I cant dismiss the show. The last football I played was in high school so I have a interest in the show from a football standpoint. A few weeks ago I met coach Probst at a trade show in Birmingham and I can honestly say I have never met anyone more full of themself than he was. In less than a minute he explained to me that he had a booster club that was 500 members strong and they would buy him any "toy" he wanted. I havent heard from his boosters yet about purchasing his toy. ANYWAY my 12 yr old daughter was wanting to see it so I tivoed last nights episode and I will probably watch it tonight. If its like the other shows on television like the Laguna Beach and then there was one the other night where some girl was having a birthday party and it was ultra extravagant and she was a total brat about everything and the whole concept of the party was to make all her friends jealous.

Roll your eyes or whatever at me but these kids have no concept of religion or what is really important in life. They are living by examples the parents are showing them and God has no place in their lives. They have no idea about salvation, or the fact that Jesus died a horrible death for them. These kids are lost and I don't watch these shows because it is just depressing when you think about how these beautiful and gifted kids could be examples for others who need salvation and instead they are ruled by all things material.

I was going to say anything but that was exactly the impression I had of Probst when I met him. He was absolutely the biggest horses *** I had or have ever met. I would not let my child play for him no matter how many games they won.

It just looked to me like his "celebrity" has gone to his head.

Re: Two-A-Days

Don't know the coach at all so I do not have a say about him other than he knows how to win.
The show hasn't been on but one night so I don't know if they will get into any religous aspects of the players and coaches lives but they are showing that the team prays together. I will not be surprised to hear some rumblings afterwards from the anti Christians about that, it being a public school and all.
Most of the shows on MTV as well as most of the other networks are all mindless entertainment. Probably why I enjoy them.

I agree with Brad. I started watching last night but quickly cut it off because of the language the kids were using.

Re: Two-A-Days

Okay, I admit, I am one of the most unobservant people on this earth. I also tend not to listen completely either. I am probably ADD. I do not remember any really bad language last night. I'm not saying they didn't sling a curse word or two, but I don't remember there being much ugly talk at all. But I did admit, I don't pay close attention.
