What do yall think about the Dixie Chicks comments?

Any comments on the Dixie Chick deal? I think they are TOASTED! Radio Stations all over the country are no longer playing their music. They get ratings from Listeners so if i was an owner and they asked me top stop playing it I would. After those comments I wouldn't play it anyways!! What do yall think?!:dunno: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?:dunno:

The comment Jim is referring to was made by Natalie Maines, lead singer of the Dixie Chicks: "Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

I basically chalk this up to poor timing. They new being in London that anything negative said about the US would have a huge positive reaction from the crowd, and that's problably why she said that. I wouldn;t judge the group musically based on their opinions regarding the president. If you think about it, you don;t see millions boycotting the movie "Chicago" because of Richard Gere's extremely anti-war, anti-Bush remarks he made. Practically everyone in Hollywood is anti-war, anti-Bush, and no one has stopped watching television or going to the movies.

If that comment pisses you off, turn on CNN once in a while and find out what other entertainers think.

People can say what they want.. but they should be prepared for the reactions.. In their line of work they should know that their image is #1 to their success... so that comment may not have been a smart move, but she had all the right to say it.

Personally i'm not against this war. There are plenty of reasons to be against it ---> it's tearing the UN's "rep" down... but maybe it should be... they passed a resolution .. and now they don't want to go through with it --

but anyway.. it's too late to be talking about this.. i'm about to fall asleep goodnight

I also support the war, I just see it wrong to single out them for 1 comment when their have been many more and worse things said by celebrities and they didn't suffer because of it.

I am getting real tired or celeb's like Martin Sheen and their extreme liberal comments. I have yet to hear one good solid reason that says we don't HAVE to go to war. Of course no one wants to see their loved ones get shipped overseas to fight. But that is the cost of freedom! Mabey all these celeberties that love to get on TV and talk bad about our country, goverment, and polices should realize one thing. In Iraq, there is only one celeberty. No one can get on TV and say anything bad or against what the goverment does....reagardless of what it is. In fact, they wouldn't even be able to have a web site such as this one for citizens to say what they feel. Under Saddam's rule, what he says goes. Just like what I told a friend yesterday, letting Saddam have weapons of mass destruction is like letting a 4 yr old pyromaniac have a box of matches in a room with shag carpet! I say we take Saddam out. In fact, let's get Saddam and Osama, put them in Antarctica, and turn them into the latest reality series on Fox!

Looks like the Dixie Chicks have just stepped into a Texas size pile of fresh steamy cow dung! I listen to some counry music, but I won't be supporting these "****-ry" singers with an attitude like that! Pretty blatantly un-American if you ask me, regardless of the 1st Amendment. I am suprised they didn't toast an American flag while they were at it!!!
