I just wondered what everyone's thoughts were on this 9/11 movie that Oliver Stone is planning on making. Do you think it is too soon? Do you think it should be done at all?
All you need is an ounce of hope…a measure of faith…a touch of glory…and a taste of grace
For people who like South Park and don't get offended, I believe their rule was 10 years before you could make fun of a tragedy. I know this movie isn't making fun, but I think the 10 years would seem like a good time period.
No, I Iearned something today, and it's that America is our home team, and if you don't want to root for the home team then get the hell out of the stadium. -Stan from South Park

All this is a ploy for money ! It makes me sick. Why tell the story ? We all know it, is he going to give all proceeds to the victims families ? I just do not know, I still think it is way too soon.

I can't imagine the pain for the families, having to watch the towers crumble all over again.<v:shape id=_x0000_i1026 style="WIDTH: 12pt; HEIGHT: 12pt" alt="" type="#_x0000_t75"> <v:imagedata o:href='\\"http://www.demopolislive.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif\\"' src="file:///C:tempmsohtml1\01clip_image002.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape><o:p></o:p>

I agree with all of you. I could easily sit here and say that nothing like that should EVER be made but then again I enjoy a good WWII movie ya know? I agree that for the next generations to know the story then yeah YEARS from now they could make one but definitely too soon!

I will have to agree that it is too soon to be releasing a Move called 9/11. For those of us who saw the effects first hand still have it fresh in our brain just as if it was yesterday.
I had to stop and ask self,"Do I really need to be here", and self says,"Only in the cover of darkness."
Why is it too soon? There is already a movie called Fahrenheit 9/11 was it too soon for that movie? I don't really know what too soon is they made WW11 movies during that time and we watched them and love them now. This isn't much different except it happened in the U.S 20 years from now it will be a good movie for our kids to watch and love while we may not love it now. Personally I doubt I will watch it because for me I can't watch it happen again its too heartbreaking and too sad... Anyway that is jmo
I agree that it is too soon as well. I don't understand why they are going to make a movie that they don't know all the very last minute details. They don't know what it was like for those people who where trapped and died inside. I guess I don't think you should do a movie based on a true story unless you can finish it.
Turtleback Some people are like a Slinky ..... Not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs.
Did you watch Fahrenheit 9/11? I didn't, but I saw the reviews and it appeared to be nothing but mockery and bashing. The 9/11 movie is supposed to be more of documentary type, I think. So these two movies are not they same type.
I think they should wait untill there is a closure. By that I mean wait until all these trials with Saddam are over and the war is over. But like Alyssa's Mom said JMO.

I personally enjoy Oliver Stone movies (for the most part) and think it has the potential to be a good movie.
I also feel this country, in the weeks and months following 9/11, was the most patriotic and united it's been in my lifetime. If this movie can, on some small scale, bring those feelings back, it can't be made soon enough.
