Troops @ Mexico Border

I heard on the news this morning that President Bush is going to allow for National Guard soldiers to guard the border at Mexico. The tour will last for 2 years. I don't remember the correct number but I think they said for 5000 troops. He is suppose to go over the issue in his address tonight. What do you think?

The latest I heard he was going to put NG troops on the border to handle administrative and infrastructure improvement duties. By law he cannot put troops on the border for law enforcement duties. These troops will do jobs that Border Patrol personnel usually does. This will put more trained enforcement officers on the border. We just have to wait until tonight at 7pm to see what he does have in mind.

I'm so glad! It is really a good step for President Bush. And I might add that, this has been going on for years. And previous presidents have not had the guts to do something nor has congress addressed this issue. It only becomes President Bush's downfall and problem because of 9-11. Which I might add it seems the border has been low on the totem poll since 9-11. A bit ridiculous since we are trying to protect Americans from terrorism.

I love what Bill Frist said the whining and moaning from Harry Reid. LOL LOL
If people want to boarders protected somebody's gotta do it! Why not the very people that live here. DUH!

Putting troops on the borders is the only way to keep illegals out. I think Bush is doing the right thing. But we need to pay attention to the Canadian border too. That is where the terrorist from 911 came in from.
