Trust me, I'm not dissing Kerry's war record. As you say...his country called and he answered. Many people in this country did not do that...either dodging the draft, or relying on favoritism and nepotism to keep them out of harms way. I also respect him for having the guts to stand up against what he felt was an unjust war.
But now that the heat is on, why duck and cover. Why doesn't he come out once and for all and say. "I fought, I protested, and I'm damn proud that I did both."
Basically, I've yet to hear him stand up and say that he still believes that all of his actions during the Vietnam era - both his service and his protest - were the right thing to do.
