Speaking of HS football

SWHS alumni here wondering how many D'liver's would want to see Demopolis and SweetWater play highschool football. I've talked to several people in Demopolis, as well as in SweetWater, who would love to see these two teams in a cat and dog fight. What do ya think? Yes? Why? No? Whynot?

My son was just talking about this last night. It would be a good game. My kids use to go to Demopolis, but now go to Sweetwater. We love both schools, so it would be hard to pulll for just one school. I quess we could pull one team for one half and the other team, the second half.

I don't think that it will happen, but it would be a good game. I respect both Causey and Luker...they are great Christian role models for young men.

I would be for the Bulldogs simply because they would be a 1A team playing against 5A team. Of course being from south of the Bogue might have something to do with my preference, too.

If such a matchup doesn't happen for the 2008 and 2009 seasons, it will never happen.

I don't know the politics of such an arrangement, but I would love it! I think it would be a good competitive game for both teams. Our ties to DHS are obvious, but we've got love for SWHS, too--my stepkids go there and their mom teaches there. We've been watching Tate and Caroline play ball in Sweet Water for years, and I'm impressed with their community and their school. Watched them win the championship in 2004 when Demop won the 4A.

I played ball at Livingston and I cant ever remember a game played with Demopolis.We played York,Eutaw,Akron,Jackson,Kennedy,Uniontown,Coffeev ile,Thomasville,Grove Hill. If we did play Demopolis,I cant remember,but that was a long time ago,and nowadays,I cant remember what I did yesterday
Demopolis and Sweetwater would be a good game.

Sweetwater hasn't seen a defense even near as fast as ours. I don't even think it would be a good game. They may blow away teams in 1A and 2A, but I don't think they would have a chance against the Tigers......although I am very biased. It would be interesting to see what that game would be like.

Don't forget they blew away 4A Thomasville this year.

Demop has been blowing their opponents away too, so this is why I would like to see this game played. I really think it would be a VERY exciting game for both teams and fans alike. (Basketball scores aren't very interesting football matchups for either side.)

On that Thomasville note.....if you see Thomasville in Demopolis' regular season sometime in the future, just don't be surprised. Some other teams will also be taken off our schedule and tougher teams will be put on.
