Joe Torre out...
New York Yankees Head Skipper Joe Torre rejects one year deal to coach the Yankee's next year, who will the storied franchise look to now to return them to the World Series?
'your Dixie's Football Pride, Crimson Tide... ROLL TIDE, ROLL TIDE!!!
Same here. Torre has accomplished a lot. Have heard two of Steinbrenner's sons may be taking a bigger hand in running operations, this is according to something on ESPN last week.
Whomever takes it has a position I don't envy, dealing with Steinbrenner.
BTW, what did y'all think of the recent ESPN miniseries "The Bronx is Burning?"
I watched his interview yesterday on ESPN and Joe did a wonderful job! He is one very classy man and the Yankees will be sorry they let him get away. I have to agree with one statement made by an ESPN analyst, that Joe's popularity over Steinbrenner played a role in this.
I dont see how he stayed as long as he did. That work enviroment cant be fun. The yankee owner, and the Dallas owner are two I dont think I would enjoy working for, although the " frog hides" would be nice.
If he doesn't retire,he'll probably wind up back in Hotlanta.

Do you think Bobby Cox is going anywhere??Not being a smart butt or anything like that. I figure Cox has a life time pass.

Thats where he came from. I figure some point in time Cox will move "inside the office". I dont really know for sure,I quit following them several years ago when they started jumbling the roster every year.

Same here, with the roster thing.

Way back when (I am not sure of any dates or the order in which this happened).........
-Bobby Cox was fired or left the Braves and went to Toronto as manager and helped build their World Series teams (he didnt manage any of them-left before they made the World Series)
-Joe Torre was the Braves manager and was eventually fired (or quit)
-Cox came back to Atlanta and was in the front office for a while then returned to manage when he was obviously the best choice they had
-I think Atlanta had several managers in between Cox. Joe Torre, Chuck Tanner, Russ Nixon
