Personally, I think that both Saban and Miles are a little to big for their britches. They need to be taken down a peg or two. In LSU's case, I'm just sorry that Auburn couldn't get the job done. I hope Bama kicks some LSU tail.

saddleburn is right. Les Miles is neither! Is he arrogant? Maybe. Will he be at LSU a long time? No! No LSU coach since Charlie McLendon has been totally loyal to LSU. The rest have been self-glorifying cusses. Even the great Paul Deitzel was all about himself...left LSU to make a name for himself...didn't happen.
Being a coach, I thought Miles kept his team from winning bigger. He would have drives that were chewing up yardage; then he would send in #11 and Auburn would stop LSU. Now being an Auburn fan, I got to where I was enjoying it whenever #11 trotted on the field.
As for that last play, it was not the playcall by Miles that won. It was the execution by the QB and WR that won. The QB put the ball right where the Auburn defender couldn't get to it. The Auburn DB was right there to stop the average thrown ball; however, this was a perfectly thrown ball. Credit to Miles? None. He exhibited poor clock management throughout the second half that left him without a timeout to use in that situation. There was also poor clock management on that last LSU drive.
Are they national championship quality? The truth is that NO team in the NCAA is national championship quality this year. As proof, I present the 2007 NCAA Upset thread. Throughout their football history, LSU has relied on "The Magic" and fall apart when it isn't there. Kentucky has already taken advantage of that reliance upon "The Magic". Believe me..."The Magic" is NOT back!

As long as he stays brain-damaged for two more weeks, I'm OK with him. Truthfully, I'm beginning to think its more overactive ego than intellectual deficiency that's behind his questionable calls.
True.. I was going to answer the question "Les Miles: Idiot or Genius?" with --
c) Neither -- he's a pompous dick.

Kagan, my mean wife laughed me out of the house when we saw you had put saddleburn instead of saddlebum. You could hear her in downtown Linden and downtown Demopolis. She made me get my own post a while back. You lived near my 3 daughters in Linden. Occasionally, saddleburn is appropiate. M has had a bunch of kids camping out and riding at the stable last evening.

Sorry about that BUM...I didn't mean to cause any blisters to rise.

A complete idiot...but as long as they are winning, the LSU fans really don't care.
Last night, the LSU played a very sloppy game, they made plays when they had to, but making over a hundred yards in penalties is not going to win a National Championship. With the parity in the SEC this year, it might win you a trip to the SEC Championship game, but it will not beat a Kansas, Ohio State, or Oregon! Once again, they lucked up and won the game with only minutes to play, but you aren't going to do that every game. LSU allowed Bama to come back after being up two touchdowns, stopping Bama's run game, and man-handling the offensive line. The clock on LSU is ticking, time for all the crazy plays in going to run out really soon!
