You didn't answer my question so I'll write it again in "real big letters":
WHY AREN'T YOU CALLING FOR THE ARREST, TRIAL, AND DRAWING AND QUARTERING OF EVERY PERSON WHO ROLLS TOOMER'S CORNER AFTER EVERY AUBURN WIN? THAT FITS THE DEFINITION OF DISORDERLY CONDUCT, TOO. THEY VANDALIZE PUBLIC PROPERTY, DISRUPT TRAFFIC, LITTER, AND EVEN COMMIT ARSON.
Oh...and I am grown. Most notable in the fact that I didn't come into this football season talking trash about my team, then become absolutely silent since September about anything to do with my team, then come out after a win over my team's rival acting like I'm the biggest fan that ever shook a pom-pom and talking trash again. Nope...I didn't do that...because THAT is acting like a child.
If you wanna impress me little girl, take Simeon Castille's case pro-bono and represent him in court on his appeal. Don't give me this "I practice business law". That will be a cop-out. After all, you ARE an attorney. You should be able to defend him in court on this simple charge. After all, it is a BS charge, right? According to you, a white TPD officer has violated Castille's civil rights by targeting or profiling him as a black male!
Go on, impress all of us! Take this case pro-bono! When you win it, I will shut up! I really don't think you will win it. Essentially, if YOU believe he was wronged THAT BAD, then YOU should pick up the ball and represent him!
Personally, I don't think he has a leg to stand on and stand by my previous statements.
Who exactly do you think you are calling Simeon's father "Daddy Castille."
His name is Mr. Jeremiah Castille. He has for years been the chaplain of the University of Alabama football team. Before that he was the director of the University of Alabama Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is an ordained minister. He has devoted his life to ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ to underprivileged kids and University of Alabama students. He speaks regularly around the state of Alabama to underprivileged kids about how keeping your grades up, being involved in team sports, trying your best and putting your faith in the Lord can get them out of even the worst situations. All of this while raising six children.
Now...do you want to call him "Daddy Castille" again?
I never referred to Jeremiah Castille as "Daddy Castille".
Oh, and one more thing for clarification young Demopolite. This is NOT an issue of Alabama vs Auburn. Auburn has nothing to do with this depsite the fact Castille is a member of the UA Crimson Tide Football team.
My thing is, Castille is a public figure representing the UA and the State of Alabama to a degree by being a high profile member of the football probram @ UA. His actions and how he represents himself in the public eye are being watched by more than just ME.
Please don't cloud the issue of his arrest by making this out to be an Alabama - Auburn thing just because his trial popped up the week after the Iron Bowl. Iron Bowl has absolutely NOTHING to do with it!
You are attempting to cloud the issue with trivial BS cause you KNOW you are WRONG and are FAST losing this battle!

Re: Castille Found Guilty
First of all, according to the Tuscaloosa News today, Jeremiah said Simeon told him "he was not guilty", and Jeremiah said "he had no reason to believe he wasnt", thats why they are pursuing a jury trial. Im sure most of you on here would side with your kid if they were, or you thought they were, telling the truth. I dont know why folks paint Tuscaloosa to be such a thug town to start with, theres just as many problems at Auburn as there is in Tuscaloosa, but people shouldnt belittle college kids by calling them thieves, and drunks, etc...
and no stickman Im not refering to you, that quote was from the Iron Bowl post that lit my "a$$afire" by saddlebum. I think if your not in Tuscaloosa on a daily basis and know exactly whats going on you really should refrain from making any comments, on the football players anyway, their humans also. JMO, Now Im ready...
'your Dixie's Football Pride, Crimson Tide... ROLL TIDE, ROLL TIDE!!!

Let me make a clarification and a few comments. All of this bickering detracts from any valid debate.
1. I used the term "Daddy Castille" and did so in an affectionate way, although I can now see how it could be perceived differently. I apologize for that; I respect the Castille family tremendously.
2. Simeon Castille has every right to pursue whatever inroads
the judicial system allows. If his wish his to appeal, it is not mine or yours to judge. If his father or family want to pay for the process, that is their call...not anyone else's.
3. I cannot understand, Stick, why you feel the need to be so snotty with me when all I did was try to offer another viewpoint that maybe some did not take into consideration. I'm sure if you FELT as if you had been wrongly accused of something..you'd fight like hell to clear your name. Notice I used the word FELT. Again, it is his RIGHT as a citizen to make use of the judicial system in place. You know that. I don't understand why someone else's business is getting folks so worked up when it does NOT affect them in the least.
4. I am sure he does have concerns regarding the draft. He could have a very bright future. It would be a shame for this to hurt a CAREER in the NFL.
5. I know Simeon Castille, as well as the Castille family, have been an assest to not only the Bama program, but also the Tuscaloosa community. Simeon has been a great role model. What if he is guilty? Does that negate ALL the good he has done? Does that automatically label him as a thug?
6. No, this isn't a rivalry thing. Simeon Castille is a human being with feelings and flaws just like all of us. He is also a U.S. Citizen which provides him the very same rights you and I are afforded.

You know, I don't really care what happens in this case one way or another. It doesn't affect me in the least. All I have done was point out the fact that Simeon Castille was in the street on the Strip at 2am on August 19th when a police officer observed him taunting people in aonther vehicle as if he was trying to get them to fight. The police officer saw cause to arrest Simeon Castille and book him into Tuscaloosa Metro Jail on the charge of Disorderly Conduct.
I have said before and will say again, I was not there. I did not see what happened. I only read what was in the Tuscaloosa News and the police officer's arrest report outlining the details. I most certainly not Simeon Castille's judge nor jury. It's his life, let him do what he wants to with it. What I got so pissed about was people trying to make this out to be a racial thing, or that the police officer in question took matters a little too far by arresting a star Alabama football player for a little disorderly conduct.
Yeah, he's young. Yeah, he made a mistake. Who here hasn't? I would hate to see something as petty as a disorderly conduct charge keep this guy from a pro football draft down the road if this is where he is headed. God knows the NFL will look at this one incident if and when Castille decides to go pro. They will be watching to see if he's gonna turn out like any of the other "bad boys" who have shown themselves in the sports world as of late.
I certainly am not and have not targeted Castille simply because he is an Alabama football player and I am an Auburn fan. That is the most ludicrous and lame idea anyone could have conceived! I would have been just as hard had this been one of Auburn's star football players as I am about Castille.
It is Demopolite's grandios illusions that I want Castille drawn and quartered or otherwise sentenced to death for this petty crime, not mine. I think that punishment is quite harsh for such a petty crime. I tend to agree with saddlebum and his statement that if I were in Castille's shoes, I would be wanting to get this over, put it to rest as quickly as possible, and get my name out of the spotlight on this. However, if he feels he is not guilty and wants to spend big $$$$$ fighting a $150 misdemeanor slap on the wrist that most likely could have been taken care of by an admission he did something wrong, a public apology, and asking for the mercy of the court, then that's Castille's business. Who am I to deny him (or anyone else) their day in court? I do sincerely believe when he takes this case through the Circuit Court, the jury could very well find Castille just as guilty as the Municipal Court Judge did. With that comes the possibility the jury could also level a harsher punishment against Castille. Things could also go the other way, but I am predicting he will be found guilty in a jury trial in Circuit Court and may incur a harsher penalty than a simple $150 fine.
Just for the record, I HAVE been a STUDENT at UA - Tuscaloosa. I HAVE attended classes on that campus. I HAVE been on The Strip AT NIGHT in my life. I took part of my Intermediate EMT and ALL of my Paramedic training at the University of Alabama and have college credit hours to prove it EVEN though I have always been an Auburn Fan all my life. I have even worn Auburn shirts on the campus while taking classes. No one on the campus has EVER given me ANY grief over it....EVER! Not that all ths means anything to anyone or that any of you give a damn about it, but there it is.
I am through with this thread.
I am through with you Demopolite. I thought I knew you, but apparently I don't have a clue, or you're not the same person I knew a few years ago. I don't know which observation is correct and really am beyond caring anymore.
I hope everyone here has a great weekend!
