I think he had a chance. 5 offensive touchdowns in 6 games should get you fired everytime. I think Coach Tubb couldn't commit 100% to Franklins spread due to personnel and I think Franklin couldn't get happy unless he had 100% control of the offense. The departure was probably mutual but for whatever reason it was deemed a "fire".

Auburn will either turn things around offensively and finish the season on a positive note, or they will continue to unravel which is what was going to happen anyway. I would say our chances of finishing the season on a positive note went up substantially with this move. I just wish he hadn't been hired in the first place, but everyone makes mistakes and at least Coach Tubbs was a strong enough leader to admit it and move on.

I betcha we see a lot more of Kodi Burns in the "new" offense.

I hope not. The "new" offense needs to be the "old" offense of the year's before: A drop back and pass offense. Of the two QBs, Todd is better suited for that.
Burns' accuracy is awful and his arm isn't as strong.

From what I understand, TT is sticking with the spread. I hope that he does. I just can't see where firing the OC midseason is going to help things. But then again, I would have kept Borgess.

I will respectfully disagree about the arm strength. Todd has not fully recovered from his shoulder problems and even he will admit his arm is not 100%. Burns brings mobility to the position and I believe can better lead the offense by gutting out tough plays like when they put him in against TN and he scrambled out of trouble and passed to Robert Dunn for a first down. It lit up the crowd and the O-line and they marched down in field goal range. Of course my buddy Wes missed but that wasn't Burns fault. Todd lacks confidence and Burns lacks experience but I think Burns is more athletic and certainly has better tools.
