I think he had a chance. 5 offensive touchdowns in 6 games should get you fired everytime. I think Coach Tubb couldn't commit 100% to Franklins spread due to personnel and I think Franklin couldn't get happy unless he had 100% control of the offense. The departure was probably mutual but for whatever reason it was deemed a "fire".
Auburn will either turn things around offensively and finish the season on a positive note, or they will continue to unravel which is what was going to happen anyway. I would say our chances of finishing the season on a positive note went up substantially with this move. I just wish he hadn't been hired in the first place, but everyone makes mistakes and at least Coach Tubbs was a strong enough leader to admit it and move on.
I betcha we see a lot more of Kodi Burns in the "new" offense.
