Congrats Demopolis Tigers!
You played a tremendous season!
The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, but one must be, wrong. - Abraham Lincoln, 1862
WOW what a heart break guys you did all you could ot win that game and I feel for you for not doing so! You can bet everyone thanks you for a great and awesome season!
Grandkids and kids all make Us feel younger than We actually are!!!
I have been to a few games this year where it appeared that the refs were out to make sure that Demopolis did not win! In my opinion something needs to be done about how crappy the refs are. I don't know all there is to know about football, but I know I could call a game better then some of them have this year.
Congratulations to the tigers for having a great season. They no doubt deserve to be playing next week! Way to go guys!

I would just like to say that Coach Causey did a great job restraining himself last night. I think a lot of people in that situation would have went off the deep end. I was very happy that he was classy, even though I certainly could not have blamed him for being VERY ANGRY.
I will agree that you just do not call the roughing call in that situation. The only thing that Carver fans are saying that holds any validity is that we had a chance to stop them from moving down the field at the end which is true and also that our last TD drive was assisted by penalties which is true. However I believe that we were going to score that last drive, and after the bad call on their 85 yard TD throw we deserved a call. JMO
I feel absolutely horrible for the seniors like Kerby and Shelby Speagle and Boone and others. It is one thing to lose your last game, but it is another thing to lose a game in which you outplayed a team the entire second half and were one "very questionable" call away from advancing.
I will not go as far as to say that the game was stolen from Demopolis cause I would like to see the game tape. However I do believe that Dr. Espy and Coach Causey should pressure the powers above them to look into this crew. Very shady IMO.

My feelings about this game are still so hurt that I probably shouldn't be posting right now. I will say that I think our boys saw that the kick was no good, started celebrating because they had the game won, and knocked into the Carver guys. I don't know if that's actually what happened or if that's just the way I saw it because I wanted our boys to win so badly. The ref found a call for it that would allow Carver to kick again, thus taking the win away from us after the game was over.
Seniors, thank you for a great season! You improved over the course of the season more than any Demop team I have watched. Carver will go into week 4 with a sinking feeling in the bottom of their hearts that they got away with one and will have to contend with a strong Vigor team.
Coach Causey, Coach Browder, and all the others: thank you for teaching our boys to be men of character as well as winning athletes. They got their never-give-up spirit from you--and they didn't give up or lose. They had it snatched away from them after time expired. There was great sportsmanship on both sides of the ball last night. Rick, I saw you and a Carver player pick each other up and pat each other's backs several times. I promise--that gets noticed by this teacher, mom, and football fan. Same goes for Greg, Jacob, Morgan, Trey, Shelby, etc.
Go Demop! Can't wait for football 2009.

I can honestly say that the game last night tore me up. I openly wept when they let have Carver have a re-kick and they actually made it. I cried for our boys because they played so hard and deserved that game. Cheating isn't winning and our boys won that game fair and square. So, boys...Hold your heads up high because you are the true VICTORS!!! Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: DEMOP vs CARVER (REMATCH)
The Tuscaloosa News said, and I quote, "Demopolis was called for roughing the snapper" and the Carver coach said, "You cannot touch the center during the kick", OK I wasnt there, Did any Demopolis player touch the Center/Snapper on the FG attempt, just wondering. I was pulling for DHS just like you all, and if the center/snapper was NOT touched I would call and protest, but if the center/snapper was touched, or pushed, well that is a penalty. Like I said I wasnt there, but would like to know if any of you all that were there saw the center/snapper interfered with? Thats a tough way for a game to end, especially the way DHS fought back.

The snapper was ran into and not intentially it was do to excitement, but only after and I repeat after the ball was kicked and missed in no shape or form was snapper hit will they were trying to kick the field goal it sucks for our kids they won the game fair and square
That leaves the questions what will the coaches do try to get the game over turned or wait until next year and let these seniors just move on knowing they won that game without doing anything to stop it. May I add our coaches flat out-coached them in 2nd half.
What do you guys think should coaches call AHSAA to get the game looked at and see was that the proper call too make?

Like I posted in the other thread on this subject, bad calls are a part of all sports. Sometimes the calls are in your favor and other times they're not. Unfortunately, we lost and are unable to advance to the next level, however, I'm not sure appealing to the AHSAA will produce any other outcome. JMHO.
Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.
