Re: Tubberville Out at Auburn

Hang on fellow Auburn fans. The Alabama powers that be forced out Gene Stallings because they thought something better was waiting around the corner. As a result, our cross-state rival has already been through their Dubose, Franchione, Price, and Shula. The Auburn powers that be will take us through that as well.

Saban will win 11 straight over us.

HOLY COW KAGAN!! We finally agree on something.

I don't know about the 11 straight, but they will definately dominate us for years to come, as we have them in years past. You guys may think I'm crazy, but I vote for Will Muschamp. The reason Auburn had the success it did was defense. If you are to survive in the SEC you need to be a solid defensive football team. Tubberville was a successful defensive coach. Muschamp has the youth and vitality Auburn needs to turn things around quickly like Saban did at Bama. I doubt he will come, I think the boosters (Lowder) will dangle a giant money filled carrot in front of Leach and sign him. I think Auburn will have a better, but still somewhat disfunctional spread offense and SEC defenses will have us for dinner. But who knows.

Re: Tubberville Out at Auburn

Well, I'm still sulking over Tuberville "resigning." I actually liked him and his attitude. Guess I need to sit in time out.

Re: Tubberville Out at Auburn

Bobby Johnson at Vandy would be an excellent choice. Brian Kelly at Cincy or Peterson at Boise. I dont think Leach would be a very good fit in the SEC, it wouldnt take SEC defenses very long to figure out how to stop his offense.

Re: Tubberville Out at Auburn

The person either needs SEC experience or SEC mentality. Urban Meyer had a SEC mentality before he went to Florida. Nick Saban had a SEC mentality before he went to LSU. Tubberville had a SEC mentality before he went to Ole Miss. Rich Brooks had a SEC mentality before he went to Kentucky.

SEC mentality is...
1. Play the toughest defense in America
2. Play error-free special teams
3. RUN DA BALL
4. Utilize your athleticism

The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, but one must be, wrong. - Abraham Lincoln, 1862

Roswell! Roswell! Re: Tubberville Out at Auburn

There's some really harsh gossip concerning Tuberville's resignation and it's not about him. We hope it's not true.

I don't think Spurrier would come. I would love to see him at AU. I hated him when he was at FL., but when he came to South Carolina I really got to see what kind of man he is and what kind of character he is made of. That first year he kicked more people off the team than anyone whould have believed. Why, because they wouldn't follow his rules. That is my kinda coach.
