Auburn admits talking to Petrino
Auburn has admitted to talking to former OC and current Louisville headman Bobby Petrino about a vacancy that wasnt even open. 2 days before the Iron Bowl Housel (AD) and the schools president William Walker flew to Louisville to secretly meet with Petrino. If i were Tubby i would ask for my settlement and walk out of there with my head held high i maybe a Bama fan but even an Aburn coach doesnt deserve this.

You are very correct. Tubby is geting more support because of how he's being fired. Walker is just a front for Lawder and the rest of the Trustees. Walker and Housel should be fired after all this. Carnell is going pro if Tubby leaves, it's time to once again rebuild the program.

This is so ridiculous. Here's the way I see it. With all these state budget cuts for our university funding....it is simply ridiculous to go around breaking contracts and paying settlements. I know funding comes from different sources, but the impression is that too much emphasis is put upon athletics...not academics. I just don't think it would be good for the university to portray that kind of image.

Tuberville will not resign now, or in the future. Auburn will have to fire him and come up with the three plus million or so to pay him off. Where will the money come from? Housel and Walker both
should be terminated. Carnell will go pro and yes Auburn will have to start rebuilding.

Doesn't employers know how to terminate employees or employees know how to resign from positions anymore? Remember how Coach Fran resigned from Bama? Now Auburn.

So this is RammaJamma's attempt to bait a true Auburn fan into a pissing match.

Here's what I'll say-- Bama has had it 2nd worse season in school history. They are banking on a coach that hasn't been a winner since he was a player for bama some 20 years ago. Will he be successful? Probably, he has enough supporters both in the school and fan wise to get a chance to win.

If you're only argument at the time being against Auburn is "history" and "the Bear" and "12 national titles" for Bama then you have no argument. Alabama isn't the same team it has been in the past, not even close.

Say what you want about Tubberville, but he hasn't done as bad as people think. It's hard to win a national title when you're not buying your players. Tubby can say he never left in the middle of the nite without telling anyone but his new school; he hasn't been having sex with big-nosed prostitutes on the school's dime, and he wasn;t hired because he was a handsome white boy with the right last name.

You can't judge any school by a coach's/player's mistake. That only goes against those individuals but at the expense of the school's image... you can't always pick winners!! Auburn will never be able to accomplish what Alabama has done (even if it was year's ago) - and you can't say that any of the teams aren't buying their players; they just aren't getting caught like Alabama (and others) have done.
I actually like Tubberville as a coach and I think they would be making a mistake by letting him go!! There's always drama with sports!!
