This is a tutorial on posting a new thread.
Part 1: Getting to the correct forum.
In order to start a new thread, you have to get to the correct forum. Goto the forums home here to see a full list of available forums. Forums in the "Information Desk" section and "headlines" aren't available to registered users, so choose a forum in the sections below there.
From here you can click on threads that have been posted in this particular category. This is a way to browse forums without depending on the "Active Topics" that are shown on the front page. To start a new thread, click on "Forum Tools" on the right side of the page, then select "Post a new thread". Alternatively, you can click on "New Thread" located at the top and bottom on the left side of the page.
Once you are on the "post new thread" page, you are ready to make your new thread.
Part 2: Posting a new thread.
Once you're ready to post a new thread, you just fill in the blanks. Your "title" you be descriptive or eye catching, depending on the subject. When posting news or a particular subject for discussion, your title should contain that subject. "Tags" are search terms that apply to your subject and are optional.
The large blank box is known as the "text box" and is where your actual post is typed. The formatting options above the text box can be applied by highlighting the text you want to format, then selecting the the format button (Example
B is Bold). Post icons are mood indicators of your post and are optional (they show on the forums page). Once you are done, you can either preview the post to see how it will look (if you used formatting) or hit "Submit New Thread" to post your words to the internet.
Congratulations! You have now posted a new thread to DLive. Remember to
follow forum rules when posting.
